Lost Creek Safari

Believe it or not, this gem is in our own backyard. It's literally 10 minutes from our driveway. Needless to say, we've got big plans to frequent Lost Creek Safari, and you should too!

This smile didn't leave his face until we had to leave...

A six month-old (I think) baby kangaroo. The boys LOVED her...

Sam had a hard time sharing when it came time to pass the baby...

Next stop. LEMURS.

Henry and Sam both fed grapes to the lemurs using porcupine quills. Yum, yum.

Momma Kangaroo...may have been Daddy...

And then Sam found Baby again.

Polly want a cracker

You can see by the expression on his face that Sam loved all animals equally.

An ROUS...rodent of unusual size.

Not quite as alarming as the Rodents Of Unusual Size featured in the Princess Bride, but still impressive. And we didn't even have to brave a fire swamp or Prince Humperdinck and his sadistic six-fingered vizier Count Rugen to see it.

Feeding the rodent.

The bottle of milk was nearly half Sam's weight, so he just assisted with this feeding.

But he was first in line to KISS the camel. Pucker up.

And somehow, after seeing and feeding a slew of other exotic animals, we found our way back to the kangaroos.

The only time it's paid off to be small when surrounded by a group of older kiddos. Sam was 1 of 2 small enough to ride the turtle.

And he's been talking about turtles ever since.
