Bunker

Less than one year ago, we were at the same hotel and the same church for my aunt Debbie's funeral. Now, here we were again to remember the life of her son, Morgan, who everyone knew as Bunker.

After the long car ride, Henry and Papa spent some time in the hotel pool stretching their legs and releasing a lot of built-up energy. This was good as I knew the longer Henry swam, the longer I got to sleep that night.

Morgan Ward {BUNKER} Breen, age 19, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2012, in Amarillo, Texas unexpectedly. Bunker was born March 2, 1992, in Amarillo, Texas. He was a life time resident of Tucumcari. He was a member of the Center Street United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of the Tucumcari High School Class of 2011. Surviving Bunker is his father, Emmett {CHIPPER} Breen Jr. of Tucumcari and his sister, Bridget Breen of Tucumcari; his grandparents, Kate Breen of Tucumcari and Shirley Martin and husband, Phil of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Bunker was preceded in death by his mother, Deborah Breen on March 10, 2011, and by grandfathers, Emmett Breen Sr. and Paul Ward. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Our Trip to the Zoo

One of our many adventures during winter break was a trip to the Oklahoma City Zoo. Typically, a trip to the zoo lasts all of two hours. But today was an exception. I had to practically drag the boys to the car after exploring every animal in every zoo corner for over four hours. We even hit the play grounds and petting zoo.

Taking a gander at the lions

Sweet kisses from brother bear

Anyone home?

Getting excited while watching brother climb on the bronze elephants

His acrobatic skills are unbelievable!

Now for the real deal

This leopard was much too interested in Sam. Yes, there was a measly chain-link fence between us and the leopard, but this kitty looked determined.

Notice his interest...

The stare continues...

The stare gets increasingly intense as Mr. Kitty raises his head and begins to lick his lips

Here fishy, fishy, fishy

Henry wanted a closer look at the ducks

Depositing his pretend quarter

Wondering how the ducks suddenly relocated so far away

The birds invaded our stroller and it took quite awhile for us to coax them out. Apparently Sam had dropped some Cheerios. The Australian parakeets were big fans. They must not have Cheerios in Australia.

Five Years

On January 13, Wade and I celebrated our five year anniversary with a kiss, one dozen red roses, and a one-week trip to Yellowstone National Park. Wade knew I was surprising him with something big, but I was actually able to keep Yellowstone a secret for three months. Yes, THREE months. The cabin, the flight, the rental car. Everything is booked. We can hardly wait!

The best day of my life
