Plymouth - Quincy - Portsmouth

After departing Martha's Vineyard Sunday afternoon, we began making our way to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Our first pit stop was in Plymouth. Be forewarned - it's a tourist trap. We saw the rock, had what Wade claimed was the BEST clam chowder he experienced during our entire trip, and then went on our merry way.

Next stop was Quincy, MA. Those of you who know Wade, know how he LOVES American history. Yes, he reads presidential biographies for fun. I know.

The home of John Adams and John Quincy Adams.

While Wade read everything there was to read about the former presidents, I enjoyed their garden.

I tried to convince Wade that "gardeners know all the dirt." He didn't believe me...he knows the last book I read (again) was about an expedition on Mt. Everest. There was definitely history embedded, but apparently it doesn't count. I digress...

The library was built in 1870 and is home to over 12,000 volumes from four generations of Adams family men and women.

Next stop - Acadia National Park
